๐Ÿ” DWBots: Relay Bots

Relay Bots are specialized bots used to link multiple IRC channels across networks or servers. They allow seamless message forwarding, synchronized communication, and multi-network bridging.

Relay Bots on the DarkWorld Network ensure stability, security, and high-performance message routing.

๐Ÿ“Œ What Are Relay Bots?

Relay bots provide:

  • Cross-network message mirroring
  • Multi-channel synchronization
  • Joins, parts, quits, and nick-change forwarding
  • /me action forwarding
  • Optional network or channel tags
  • Loop protection
  • Flood control
  • Color/format filtering (configurable by staff)

Common use cases:

  • Multi-language communities
  • Cross-project coordination
  • Shared support channels
  • Network partnerships
  • Channel merging

๐Ÿ”— DWRelay (Official Relay System)

DWRelay is the official relay system maintained by DarkWorld Network. It bridges channels across different IRC networks for cross-network communication.

    • Active Networks Supported:**
  • DarkWorld
  • DalNet
  • Undernet
  • QuakeNet
  • Libera.Chat
  • TechNet
  • Rizon

Request a relay:

  • Join #DWBots
  • Or email: โœ‰๏ธ dwbots@darkworld.network

Relay setup includes:

  • One-way or two-way relaying
  • Optional formatting tags
  • Relay bot identity customization
  • Support for private or public channels

๐Ÿ”ง Relay Bot Features

  • Message forwarding (user โ†’ user)
  • Cross-network join/part mirroring
  • Nick tracking
  • Action forwarding (/me)
  • Loop protection
  • Optional:
 * Color formatting
 * Bot filtering
 * Channel prefix tags
 * Logging
 * Muted relay (receive-only)

๐Ÿ“ How to Request a Relay Bot

Relay bots require staff verification.

1. Join #DWBots on the network 2. Provide:

  * Source channel
  * Destination channel(s)
  * Networks involved
  * Direction (two-way or one-way)
  * Purpose of the relay

3. Staff will check network policy, permissions, and stability 4. Relay is configured by Staff.

Relays are denied for:

  • Spam
  • Botnets
  • Excessively high-traffic channels
  • Networks that forbid relays

โš ๏ธ Rules & Restrictions

To keep relays safe:

  • No abusive relay usage
  • Do not modify relay bot settings
  • No forcing relays between hostile networks
  • Only staff may disable/reset relay configurations
  • Staff may remove relays without notice if misuse occurs

๐Ÿงญ Tips

  • Use SSL on all networks for stability
  • Avoid many bots inside relayed channels
  • Keep both channel sides consistent with modes (+nrt)
  • You can request formatting removal if preferred
