📜 DWBouncers: Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

The Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) defines what is and is not allowed when using the DWBouncers ZNC service. All users must follow this policy to maintain access to the bouncer system and protect the integrity of the DarkWorld Network.

Violation of this policy may result in suspension or permanent removal of your ZNC account.

⚖️ 1. General Acceptable Use

When using the DWBouncers ZNC service, users must:

• Follow the DarkWorld Network rules
• Respect other users and staff
• Use ZNC responsibly and ethically
• Keep their account secure
• Maintain proper activity (via !keep user)
• Accept the Terms of Service:

🚫 2. Prohibited Activities

The following behaviors are strictly forbidden:

❌ Abuse & Malicious Activity

• Spam, flooding, or automated harassment
• DDoS, threats, intimidation, or network disruption
• Running abusive or harmful bots
• Identity evasion or ban evasion
• Attempting to compromise other ZNC accounts or servers

❌ Illegal or Harmful Purposes

• Any activity considered illegal under applicable law
• Sharing illegal content
• Hosting harmful scripts or malware
• Using ZNC to facilitate cyberattacks

❌ Account Sharing & Multi-Accounts

• Sharing your ZNC account with any other person
• Allowing others to log in to your ZNC
• Creating multiple ZNC accounts
• Trading, selling, or giving away accounts

❌ Misuse of Network Identity

• Changing the ZNC realname (forbidden)
• Impersonating staff or services
• Using offensive or misleading vHosts

🔐 3. Security Requirements

All users must:

• Use TLS/SSL (Port 6697)
• Keep their ZNC password secure
• Use SASL or secure NickServ identification
• Avoid VPNs, BNCs, proxies, or IRCCloud when requesting a ZNC
• Ensure their NickServ account is valid and confirmed

Failure to secure your account may be treated as an AUP violation.

🔄 4. Activity Requirements

To ensure fair resource usage:

• Users must issue !keep user in #DWBouncers every 2 weeks
• Accounts idle or disconnected for 12+ days may be removed
• Long-term inactivity may result in account cleanup

These rules protect the service from abandoned or forgotten accounts.

🌐 5. Network Usage Rules

DWBouncers ZNC accounts must only be used to connect to:

irc.darkworld.network

Connecting your ZNC to other IRC networks or chaining BNC/ZNC services is prohibited.

🧩 6. vHost & Identity Rules

• vHosts must not imitate staff or services
• Offensive, abusive, or misleading vHosts will be rejected
• Custom vHosts require staff approval
• Only one vHost per user is permitted

🛑 7. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in:

• Temporary suspension
• Removal of ZNC access
• Permanent ban from the DWBouncers system
• Action against abusive nicknames, channels, or connections

DarkWorld staff reserve the right to enforce this policy at their discretion.

🆘 8. Support & Appeals

For questions, issues, or to appeal an enforcement action:

Join #DWBouncers on irc.darkworld.network

Provide:

• Your ZNC username
• The issue you are experiencing
• Any relevant logs or error messages

Staff will review and assist.
