📴 DWBouncers: Inactive Policy
To ensure fair resource usage and keep the DWBouncers service running smoothly, all ZNC accounts must remain active. This policy explains how inactivity is defined, how accounts are monitored, and when removal occurs.
This applies to all Free and Support ZNC users.
📌 1. What Counts as Activity?
A ZNC account is considered **active** when:
- The user joins
#DWBouncersat least once every 2 weeks. - The user sends the command:
!keep user
- The user maintains normal IRC usage (connecting through ZNC)
If you do not use your ZNC for long periods or never join #DWBouncers, your account becomes inactive.
🚫 2. What Counts as Inactivity?
Your ZNC account is considered inactive if:
- You do NOT send
!keepfor 2 consecutive weeks, OR - Your ZNC has no connection activity for 12+ days, OR
- You disconnect from the network for long periods, OR
- You no longer respond to staff messages regarding your ZNC
Inactive accounts create unnecessary load on the system and will be removed.
🔄 3. Removal Timeline
DWBouncers follows this removal process:
Step 1 – Warning (Day 12–14)
If no activity is detected:
- Staff may send notice through ZNC or IRC
- You may receive a reminder to use
!keep user
Step 2 – Suspension (Day 14+)
If !keep user is still not performed:
- Your ZNC may be temporarily disabled
- You will lose the ability to connect via ZNC
Step 3 – Deletion (Day 15–20)
If there is still no contact:
- The ZNC account will be permanently deleted
- All settings, modules, logs, and buffers are removed
- Re-requests must follow the full application process again
There is no recovery after deletion.
To request an exception:
- Join
#DWBouncers, or - Ask a staff member directly
Otherwise, normal inactivity rules apply.
🔐 4. Requirements for Keeping Your ZNC
All users must:
- Stay connected to the DarkWorld IRC Network
- Use only the official network:
irc.darkworld.network +6697
- Issue !keep nick every 2 weeks
- Follow the Terms of Service:
https://bouncers.darkworld.network/terms/
Failure to meet these requirements may result in account removal.
❓ 5. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I automate !keep user?
No. Using bots or scripts to automate !keep user will result in removal.
Q: What if I forget and my account is deleted?
You may request a new ZNC, but it counts as a new application. If you repeatedly become inactive, future requests may be denied.
Q: Do Support ZNC users also need to use !keep user?
Yes. Support ZNC users have higher priority, but must follow activity rules.
🆘 6. Need Help?
If you think your account is at risk of removal or you need assistance:
→ Join #DWBouncers on irc.darkworld.network
→ A staff member will help you
