1. Purpose
The Final Written Examination evaluates whether a candidate understands the knowledge, policies, responsibilities, security requirements, and judgment expected from potential DarkWorld IRC staff.
Passing the written examination does not grant staff access.
Candidates must also pass the:
2. Examination Rules
Unless the examiner states otherwise:
- The examination is supervised.
- It is completed individually.
- It is closed-book.
- Candidates must answer in their own words.
- Candidates may not receive answers from another person.
- Candidates may not use another candidate’s submission.
- Candidates may not alter examination records.
- Candidates must not perform commands against production users.
- Practical commands must be written or simulated only.
- Sensitive credentials must never be included.
- Questions may be clarified, but examiners must not provide answers.
- All answers must be submitted through the approved process.
Cheating, impersonation, falsification, or unauthorized assistance may result in failure or removal from the training program.

- 1 point for each correct answer.

Section B
Each answer receives:
- 0 points — Missing, unsafe, or incorrect.
- 1 point — Partially correct but incomplete.
- 2 points — Correct, safe, and clearly explained.
Maximum: 20 points.
Section C

- 4 points — Complete, secure, ethical, and well reasoned.
Maximum: 20 points.
Section D maximum: 30 points. Mandatory minimum: 26 points.
6. Automatic-Failure Conditions
The examination may be failed automatically if the candidate:
- Requests or includes a real password.
- Attempts unauthorized production commands.
- Supports retaliation against a complainant.
- Recommends deliberate evidence destruction.
- Recommends exposing private user information publicly.
- Approves using staff powers for a personal dispute.
- Supports credential sharing.
- Intentionally confuses DWIRC authority with another project’s authority.
- Attempts to obtain examination answers dishonestly.
- Impersonates another candidate.
- Falsifies their submission.
An automatic failure should be reviewed and documented by at least two authorized reviewers where practical.

8. Examination Results
Possible results are:

9. Re-Examination
A candidate who does not pass may normally receive:

- One supervised re-attempt.
The same question set should not be reused where memorization would undermine the assessment.
A third attempt should require specific management approval.
10. Examination Security
The examiner answer key should be stored separately from this candidate-facing page.
It must not be:
- Published on the public wiki.
- Shared in candidate channels.
- Sent to candidates.
- Stored in an unrestricted paste.
- Included in public source code.
