1. Purpose
DarkWorld is a general‑chat network for community building, development projects, gaming, and friendly conversation. All are welcome as long as they follow these rules.
2. Acceptable Use – Do's and Don'ts
Do
- Respect all users, staff, and channel operators.
- Use the network for its intended purpose (general chat, dev, gaming, communities).
Do NOT
- Flood, spam, or abuse bots (including repeated messages, CTCP floods, join/part floods).
- Advertise other networks or services without staff permission.
- Share malware, exploits, hacking tools, or illegal content (including pirated material where prohibited by local law).
- Engage in hate speech, harassment, doxing, or ban evasion.
- Attempt channel takeovers or disrupt network operations.
- Connect from compromised or hacked machines (e.g., bots, drones, open proxies).
3. Connection Limits

| Bots / automated clients | Must be identified; max 2 per user without prior approval |

4. Staff Authority & Enforcement
- IRC Operators (IRCops) have final say on all network matters.
- We reserve the right to refuse access to anyone at any time, without reason.
- Enforcement steps (at staff discretion):
Warning → Kick → Temporary ban (K‑line / G‑line) → Permanent ban
- Severe violations (doxing, child exploitation material, network attacks) = immediate permanent ban + possible referral to authorities.
5. Appeals Process
- Server ban (K‑line): Contact the server admin – use
/ADMINfor email. - Network ban (G‑line): Email
appeals@darkworld.networkwith your IP, ban reason shown, and explanation. - Staff will review appeals in good faith but are not obligated to respond or reverse a ban.
6. Legal & Network Protection
READ CAREFULLY – By connecting, you agree to the following:
- No expectation of privacy in public channels. Other users may log everything you say.
- Logging: We may log connection data (IP, hostname, timestamps) and public messages for security and troubleshooting. Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days.
- Disclaimer of liability:
DarkWorld IRC Network, its servers, staff, and volunteers are not responsible for any damages, data loss, downtime, or harm arising from your use of the network. The network is provided "as is" and "as available."
- Indemnification:
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DarkWorld IRC Network and its staff against any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from your violation of these rules or your use of the network.
- Cooperation with authorities:
We may cooperate with law enforcement where required by applicable law, but we operate under no single national jurisdiction.
7. Amendments
